🌞Solar Power🌞

This term we have been learning all about Solar Power. We have found the Solar Panels at school and learnt lots of facts about the Sun. Today we made Solar Ovens. We followed instructions on how to make a Solar Power oven using a pizza box. We then worked in teams to make S'mores. We used biscuits, chocolate and marshmallows. We placed our Solar Ovens into the sunshine with the biscuits inside. They melted together and were delicious! Next week we will be writing our own instructions for making 'Solar Power cookies'.🌞

🐸Two Green and Golden Bell Frogs🐸

Room 4 love being Scientists! We have been very lucky to have two 'Green & Golden Bell Frogs' in Room 4 called Jasper and Freddy. Thank you to Ryan & Holly for bringing them to school. We created a habitat for the frogs, observed them and then released them near the Utuhina stream. We will be writing reports about Golden Bell Frogs next week.

Rhythm Interactive Show 🥁

On Tuesday morning room 4 went to the fabulous Rhythm Interactive show. We each got a drum and copied the different beats Johnny and Lucy taught us. We had to really concentrate! Listen to the fantastic music we made!

Water Safety 🏊🏊🏊

On Thursday and Friday we participated in the Unison Water Safety Programme. It was a big success. The children had a lot of fun, challenged themselves and learnt some important water safety skills. A big thank you to all the parents who came along to help. We really appreciate it.

We learnt about:

• the different ways to stay afloat in the water
• using a kayak safely
• using a life jacket to keep safe around water
• how to rescue a drowning person while keeping ourselves safe
